During the Renaissance, as well as engraved stones, rings were also adorned by glass paste mountings, often made with special techniques, as in the case of this creation of the early sixteenth century.
iIt's a bezel made of four strates of glass paste of different colours, with an iscription of Giovanni Sforza. Letters, in white glass paste, protected by a strate of glass, are set in 5 rows, in this way:
