10 good reasons NOT to come to the Museum

Dear Visitor, do not come to the Archaeological Museum of Bologna ….

...If you’re looking for Indiana Jones Lost Ark
Here we can “charm” you with wonderful true stories. We don’t need resort to fantasy.

...If you think our stores are hiding untold treasures jealously hidden from the public
A visit to our stores will not be surprising at all: indeed, it may bore you a lot... the best things are on display!

...If you are looking for dinosaurs
Here, we only reveal the Ages of Man: from the Stone Age in the prehistoric section, up to the Roman gravestones in the courtyard.

...If you hate Ancient Egypt.
Here you can find the 3rd Egyptian collection in Italy: polychrome sarcophagi, precious amulets and statues, that amaze you!

...If your favorite Roman Emperor is Nero
Here, the ancient citizens of Roman Bologna have even beheaded his beautiful statue, as you can see in the atrium of the Museum

...If your absolute and only passion is the Etruscan Tarquinia in 350 BC.
In Bologna, Etruscan culture developed for over 400 years in a very special and unique way, with art forms that you cannot find anywhere else.

...If you can not stand the new technologies applied to archaeology
Over 100 of our objects are "read" with the QR code: you need just a smartphone to access special content.

...If you like to reach perched buildings, difficult to access
We are in the heart of Bologna, Piazza Maggiore. It’s really too easy to reach from anywhere in the city.

...If Play Station III it’s definetly too old for you.
Here you plunge into despair .... we do not have artifacts younger than 1500 years ....

...If you're ready to buy all our objects.
Our archaeological objects are not for sale and never will be: they are world heritage artifacts, our cultural legacy, available to everyone, absolutely everyone.

So forget any ideas you've got about lost cities, exotic travel, and digging up the world. You do not  follow maps to buried treasure and "X" never, ever, marks the spot.
