In the context of the most refined production of the Augustan age there is the current of "portraits of reconstruction", characterized by the influence of neoattic taste, with a strong neoclassical tendency.
This carnelian-stone is really elegant and refined. Its color is yellow-ornage with some brown stripes, and a man's bust is represented, from the right side. The refinement in depicting the hair, the beard alludes to king Numa Pompilio's iconography, with a grave and thinking attitude.
