Notice of partial closure due to renovation works on the Archaeological Museum of Bologna from June 28, 2021 until spring 2022

Due to an important fire prevention regulatory adjustment the Archaeological Museum of Bologna will remain partially closed to the public from the 28th of June 2021.
The works, commissioned by the Municipality of Bologna, will last approximately 10 months.
Therefore, from the 28th of June it will no longer be possible to visit the collections on the first floor: Prehistoric, Etruscan, Gallic and Roman sections, and Etrusco-italic, Greek, Roman and Plaster Cast collections.
The Lapidarium on the ground floor and the rich Egyptian collection in the basement remain accessible to the public.
Simultaneously with the partial closure, the Museum will promote a new format in which to present exhibitions, meetings and appointments. From July the 1st, “AGORÀ ARCHEOLOGIA. The square near the square ” will be an integral part of the exhibition: a multifunctional space where, among other initiatives, a selection of the most valuable artworks - normally preserved on the closed first floor - will be displayed in rotation.
