The amphora, decorated on the main side with the representation of two kneeling heroes playing dice in the presence of Athena, is part of a wide group vases, attributable to the most important workshop with black figures active in Athens at the end of the 6th century BC

The activity of the "Group of Leagros", a group of painters, is contemporary to the first group of artists who makes red-figure vessels , and it's distinguished by scenes from the myth and homeric poems.
