THE FIRST FLOOR OF THE ARCHAEOLOGICAL MUSEUM OF BOLOGNA

CLOSES FROM SEPTEMBER 25, 2017

136 years exactly from the day of its first opening on September 25, 1881, on September 25, 2017, the FIRST FLOOR OF THE ARCHEOLOGICAL MUSEUM CLOSES for major roof renovation.

The undelayable renovation of a large part of the roof implies, in fact, the necessary total closure of the first floor of the building: the halls related to the history of Bologna (sections: prehistoric, Etruscan, Celtic, Roman Bologna), the Verucchio Hall, the Plaster cast collection and the Greek, Etrusco-Italic and Roman collections will remain inaccessibles until the spring of 2019.

So, what remains of the Archaeological Museum?

The Egyptian collection, the third one in Italy, will remain unrestricted (and even with some novelties) and thus the lapidarium, between the entrance hall and the courtyard of the Museum. Even the exhibition room will remain available, ready to host cultural events.

There is, as usual, activities for visitors and kids on weekends.

We do not leave you alone, we're just working to get back stronger and durable than before.
