OPENING of Museo del Patrimonio Industriale:

from 15 September to 15 July:

Thursday and Friday from 9.00 a.m. to 13.00 p.m.

Saturday and Sunday 10.00 a.m. to 06.30 p.m

The Museum is located in a former brickworks on the Navile Canal known as Fornace Galotti “Battiferro”, built in 1887.
The facility was idled in 1966, and was later renovated by the city, which saved the Hoffmann kiln and redeveloped the upper floors, which had been used to dry unfired materials.

Site of the Museum since 1997, the factory was once used to produce clay-based construction materials (bricks, hollow brick, roof tiles, hollow flat tile, chimneys) and ornamental terracotta pieces (cornices, corbels, vases), employing some two hundred workers using the Hoffmann continuous kiln.

The exhibition spaces occupy a total area of some 3,000 square meters on three floors with museum labels in Italian and English.
An adjacent building houses a temporary exhibition space, offices, the library and the archives.

- 1 chaperon for minor participating in museum workshops

- persons with disabilities and their helpers

- ICOM members

- licensed tour guides

- licensed journalists

- certain partner organizations and associations

- subjects listed in Article 4 paragraph 3 letter a, b, d, e, f, g, h, i - Decree n. 507 of 11/12/1997, and subsequent amendments (including students and teachers of the Conservatory and other equivalent institutions listed under letter h)

- pre-school teachers and nursery school educators of the Municipality of Bologna

- every first Sunday of each month, from October to March (suspended following the decree of Ministry of Health 25th September 2020)

- last two opening hours of each museum on Thursdays (from April to September)

- Card Cultura and Bologna Welcome Card holders
