Silver didrachm of Thasos

On the obverse appears the depiction of a satyr who kidnaps a nymph, probably related to the cult of Dionysus.

On the reverse side there is the a deep geometric sign, made with a relief mint. It's a technique of the most ancient period of greek coin production. -the coin comes out from the Thasos mint, an island of the north Aegean sea, with a lot of silver and gold mines, between 500 and 480 BC.
