Real size reconstruction of a Villanovan hut

The Archaeological Museum has realized at the Margherita Gardens, a public park, the real size reconstruction of a hut of Villanovan period.

More info

The hut was realized with the most similar tecniques to the ancient ones: walls are made of bricks of clay mixed with straw and excrements, dried at the sun, while the roof is supported by wooden poles and thatched roof. The shape it was desumed from excavation dates and from little models in ceramic or bronze used as cineray urns inTyrrenian Etruria, called "hut urns".
