The Museum's Greek collection, which includes mainly ceramics and in a smaller number marble sculptures, terracotta works, jewelery and engraved gems, was formed by the union of various public and private collections: principally those of Palagi and University Museums, with other smaller donations.
The largest group is that of the ceramic pots, largely the result of the Palagi collecting activity, that amounts to more than 1100 objects. The collection is formed above all by Corinthian, Attic and Italiot pottery, figured and black glazed, which provide a rich examples of some of the most common vascular productions of the Mediterranean during the first millennium BC.
