These long cloak pins, typical of the area of Bologna, are characterized by the large umbrella head on complex edgings that are repeated in smaller size around the tip. They are distinctive of men’s ornaments, frequently discovered in the sepulchres of high-class individuals between the second half of the 8th century and the early 7th century B.C.
It can be assumed that some samples of cloak pins, the tips of which were not removable, were inserted in the garment eyelets and worn sideways on the chest.
