Relief of Nubi and Kiki, with libation scene

Relief with libation scene

More info

The relief, originally placed on the walls of a tomb, shows a scene of libation. Nubi, the "lady of the house", owner of the burial, sitting on a low chair is receiving the funeral offerto from his daughter Kiki: water and wine. Other foods , including a bunch of leeks and various cucurbits, are collected in a deep basin behind Kiki, in order to feed the dead forever. The elegance and softness of the figures, as well as the refinement of the costumes reveal the wealth of Nubi's life, typical of New Kingdom.
