Visit the Egypt Room in the Museum of Music!

Ticket holders to the exhibitionEgitto. Splendore Millenario”, currently underway at the Archaeological Museum until 17 July 2016, will enjoy reduced admission to the Egypt Room in Palazzo Sanguinetti.

This is a special opportunity to visit the famous chamber in Palazzo Sanguinetti, work of the painter Gaetano Lodi, whose rich wall decorations draw on the vast iconographic repertoire of Egyptian art from the 14th and 13th centuries B.C., which Lodi was able to study up close during his various sojourns in Cairo in the years 1873-1877. While there, he decorated a dining room in the harem of Ghisec and designed various interior decorations in the Khedival Palace in Giza, including designs for a table service made for the Khedive by the Italian firm Richard Ginori.
